Why We Built It
Filing is the part of email nobody bills for. Most lawyers file once the work is done: drag each email into its matter folder, or use a document-management toolbar that guesses a folder and waits for you to correct it. It is constant, low-grade admin, and when it slips the cost shows up later, as a client file with gaps or a matter nobody can search.
It slips hardest when someone leaves. A departing partner's mailbox can hold thousands of unfiled emails across dozens of matters, and the firm is left with a records problem and no good way to fix it short of someone spending days dragging messages into folders. We kept hearing the same thing from firms: filing has to happen without anyone having to think about it, and the backlog has to be fixable in an afternoon, not a quarter.
How It Works
As you finish each task — Clevermore already knows which emails belong to each task. When you complete a task in Clevermore, its emails are filed to the right client and matter, with no clicks. Close it somewhere else and Clevermore asks once, then files them all.
A whole inbox, in one click — Point Clevermore at a mailbox, whether it belongs to someone who has left or holds old matters handed to you, and it sorts every email to its client and matter, creates the Outlook folders it needs, and files them. Your client and matter list comes straight from iManage, or from a one-time import.
Every inactive mailbox in the firm — The same click works across many mailboxes at once, so a firm can clear years of departed and inactive mailboxes in one pass instead of one person at a time.
You Stay at the Wheel

- Moved, never deleted. Clevermore moves email into folders. It does not delete anything.
